INTERAC e-Transfer, previously INTERAC Email Money Transfer (EMT), allows users to send or receive money almost instantaneously from their mobile phone or desktop, either using a mobile phone number or email address. It is a new way for people to exchange money quickly, easily and securely, whether they want to transfer a few dollars or a thousand dollars.
As the first financial institution in Canada to offer this service, Central 1 and the participating credit unions are leading the way customers can use technology to meet their financial needs.
INTERAC e-Transfer for mobile is a fast and convenient way for customers to use a mobile phone to transfer funds to anyone with an email address or a mobile number. An email or text message quickly notifies a recipient that a transfer has been initiated, while financial institutions transfer money between accounts. Other solutions can take several days to complete a transfer and the money may go into a stored value account, rather than directly between financial institution accounts.
