VANCOUVER/TORONTO, April 2, 2024 — Central 1 Credit Union (Central 1) is pleased to announce that four directors have been declared elected / re-elected to Central 1’s Board of Directors and will begin three-year terms following the conclusion of Central 1’s annual general meeting on April 16, 2024 (AGM).

Four seats were available in this year’s election, two in Central 1’s British Columbia region and two in the Ontario region. While directors elected by Class A members are nominated in, and elected from, either the ON or BC regions, all directors serve Central 1 as a whole.

Central 1’s Nominations and Elections Committee completed its mandate to ensure candidates have the skills, experience and competencies needed to oversee Central 1.

At the close of voting on March 26, 2024, the following candidates were declared elected or re-elected:

  • Barry Delaney (Salmon Arm Savings & Credit Union, re-elected by capital, for a second term)
  • Shawn Good (Libro Credit Union Limited, elected by capital, for a first term
  • Brian Harris (Beem Credit Union, elected by 1 member/1 vote, for a first term)
  • John Klassen (Kindred Credit Union, re-elected by 1 member/1 vote for a second term)

In addition, at its March 1, 2024 meeting, the Board approved the re-appointment of Penny-Lynn McPherson, an unaffiliated director, for a three-year term.

“Thank you to everyone who participated in our 2024 board election process and congratulations to our elected and re-elected Board members,” said Shelley McDade, Central 1 Board Chair. “I’d also like the take the opportunity to thank outgoing directors Richard Davies and John Kortram for their contributions to Central 1 during their time on the board.”
