David Hobden is a Senior Financial Economist for Central 1 Credit Union, the umbrella organization for the credit union system in the provinces of B.C. and Ontario. The system has about 3.4 million credit union members and total assets exceeding $140 billion. David produces system financial performance benchmarks, analysis and forecasts as well as policy analysis on taxation and regulation.
David joined Central 1 in 2002 as an Economist. Prior to that, David worked for Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation. In between, David consulted for Landcor Data Corporation, several real estate boards and other clients on housing price indexes and automated housing valuation models.
David is a member of the Association of Professional Economists of BC, the Canadian Association for Business Economics, and the National Association for Business Economists. He holds a Master of Business Science degree in Urban Land Economics and a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Finance, both from the University of British Columbia.
