Richard Beed joined Central 1 in April 2014. His current responsibilities include providing cultural and business transformation through the leadership of the HR, marketing, communication and facilities management functions. In addition, he leads two lines of businesses that provide marketing, research and people solutions to credit unions across Canada.
Richard brings more than 21 years of HR executive experience to his role, gained with major organizations, including Fujitsu and Nortel Networks. Prior to joining Central 1, Richard was Human Resources VP for Talent Solutions at Telus, where his portfolio included the employer brand and the employee lifecycle from recruitment through to succession planning. His accountabilities also included Telus’s diversity and inclusiveness mandates.
Prior HR leadership roles at Nortel Networks afforded Richard the opportunity to gain diverse experience living and working in the U.K., U.S. and now Canada. His leadership style is best described as open-minded, collaborative, engaging and empowering.
Richard holds a master’s degree in Personnel Management and an Applied Science degree from Kingston University in the U.K.
