On October 21, Daniel (Dan) Semmens will be joining Central 1 as our new Chief Technology Officer. 

Dan is coming to Central 1 from ATB Financial where he has been serving as the Chief Data and AI Officer and Head of Banking at ATB Financial. Dan has also held a number of other leadership roles at ATB, supporting various technology teams. 

Dan has more than 20 years of experience in information technology within the financial services sector and his career has been dedicated to leading transformative strategies that drive significant business results. Throughout his career, he has been responsible for evaluating technology strategies and programs to align to business objectives by implementing long-term plans that address gaps in technology solutions. Dan is also passionate about supporting access to education for underrepresented youth, currently serving as the Chair of the Board of Directors for MindFuel.  

At Central 1, we are looking forward to working with Dan and what his skills, experience and leadership will bring to the Central 1 team. 

Dave Achtemichuk has been serving in this role in an interim capacity since earlier this year and will continue providing support to ensure a smooth transition. On behalf of Central 1, we’d like to thank Dave for his leadership and contributions over the past several months.
