Investing through Central 1
Central 1 supports the stability and resilience of the credit union systems in British Columbia and Ontario. Each day, more than eight million Canadians rely on services enabled by Central 1 — often without noticing — as they operate seamlessly in the background.
As the liquidity manager for both provincial systems, Central 1 provides funding programs and investment products that help credit unions operate with confidence. Central 1’s approach combines prudent risk management with responsible investment practices to support a stable and sustainable credit union system over the long term.
Central 1 is a financially strong organization with industry leading capital ratios, with assets of $9.6 billion as of December 31, 2025. In addition to Central 1’s intrinsic liquidity of credit union deposits, it maintains access to external funding and capital via the capital markets.
