VANCOUVER, B.C., September 28, 2022 – In response to the destruction brought on by Hurricane Fiona in Atlantic Canada, the Canadian Credit Union Association (CCUA) and Atlantic Credit Unions have partnered to support relief efforts and are encouraging donations to the Canadian Red Cross to support hurricane victims.

As a member of the credit union system, Central 1 is pleased to support CCUA and Atlantic Canada Credit Unions in their fundraising efforts for the Canadian Red Cross’s humanitarian response to affected communities with a $20,000 donation. We have strong relationships with credit unions in Atlantic Canada, who choose Central 1 as their partner for both digital banking and payments.

“Our hearts go out to everyone who has been impacted by Hurricane Fiona. As a member of the Canadian credit union community, it’s important to us to help our credit union colleagues, partners and clients however we can, especially when crisis strikes,” said Sheila Vokey, Central 1 President & CEO.

If you are interested in donating to support Hurricane Fiona relief efforts, we encourage you to consider a donation via this campaign link. The Government of Canada will match donations made to this campaign by Canadians and corporations up to October 23, 2022.
