VANCOUVER, B.C., October 19, 2022  – Central 1 and Canadian Credit Union Association (CCUA), today announced the transition of Central 1’s human resources consulting agency People Solutions to be owned and managed by CCUA. With this transition, CCUA will provide a centralized resource to credit unions for People Solutions’ services. This decision comes after a long period of discussions between Central 1 and CCUA’s leadership, who reached the consensus that the services offered by People Solutions more strongly align with CCUA’s strategic objectives than Central 1’s.

“Transitioning Central 1’s People Solutions to the Canadian Credit Union Association supports the vision of a strong national trade association and enables Central 1 to focus on delivering the essential elements for the credit union system’s evolving needs,” said Sheila Vokey, Central 1’s President & CEO. “This transition is a progressive step for both organizations building on previous service transitions, like last year’s PeopleFocus conference. It also builds on our shared commitment to advance our collaboration efforts through the lens of amplifying each of our organization’s strengths to best support our credit union members and their members continued success.”

“We are pleased that CCUA will continue to ensure that the array of benefits provided through the People Solutions offering will be delivered to credit union members across the country,” said Jeff Guthrie, President & CEO, Canadian Credit Union Association. “The People Solutions service suite is a complementary addition to the CCUA service portfolio, allowing our association to better serve the very unique, specific, and individual needs of all credit unions in today’s financial institution landscape.”

For more than 30 years, People Solutions has provided valuable human resources consulting services for credit unions across Canada. The services offered include helping credit unions solve complex people challenges across the areas of compensation, leadership, talent management and more.

Central 1 and CCUA are working closely to develop a transition timeline to support a seamless handover and no interruption in services for existing credit union clients. Both organizations will provide updates about the transition across regular channels in due course.
